AJ grew up around the industry. Her grandfather, Forest E. Olson, founded Olson Realty, a successful independent brokerage, and many of her family members have cultivated accomplished careers in the development industry. The spirit of entrepreneurialism ran in her blood, and she capitalized on the prospect to expand her repertoire of professional skills. After graduating from Newport Harbor High School as a valedictorian, she earned a coveted spot at the University of Southern California’s competitive Marshall School of Business, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. The school provided an ideal platform upon which to establish a business, and complemented AJ’s proactive approach. “I’ve always enjoyed the ability to create my own opportunities,” she explains. And real estate was a natural fit. In fact, when she broke the news to her grandfather that she’d be joining the business, he didn’t bat an eye. “He said, ‘It’s about time you figured that out,’” recalls AJ. “And I laughed and said, ‘You’re right!’”
She has proven her mettle as a solid real estate professional, thanks to her unwavering dedication to meeting the ongoing needs of her diverse clientele. For AJ, the art of the deal is a challenge to be met with enthusiasm and grace. “While all transactions are unique and may pose a different set of issues, I really enjoy tackling those obstacles, alleviating any stress and inconvenience to my clients, and facilitating a process where, ideally, everyone’s needs are met,” she explains. Developing an understanding of her clients’ needs involves a diligent approach; AJ establishes solid and communicative relationships in order to better grasp the subtleties beyond their criteria.
“I like to show my clients properties they may not have otherwise considered,” she says. “Their feedback helps me to refine the search process and identify the properties that will be the right fit.” Her intimate knowledge of the region isn’t enough; AJ regularly previews properties and maintains a solid collegial network in order to remain current on regional inventory trends and changes. AJ is also maximizing efficacy through technology, utilizing appropriate tools and resources to acquire and share information with her clientele.
AJ works with sellers and buyers throughout the region, representing a range of properties including waterfront homes and condos. She is an astute negotiator and a marketing specialist whose listings are showcased in comprehensive print and web campaigns. Her project management skills are solid; AJ excels in coalescing technical prowess with creative vision, and thrives on the opportunity to conduct business as an empathetic professional.
